Through this site you can witness the stages in the building of our second robot - Samprajna built at 206 Mitchell Hall, University of Delaware, USA. Its predecessor DrishTi was built for our final semester B.E. project at Banaglore, India.
This is an attempt to build a mobile robot which is completely guided by vision. This will accomplish the tasks of obstacle avoidance, mapping the environment and tracking motion in the given volume. The possible applications of this include 3d scene reconstruction through multiple viewpoints, wherein the robot moves around a given scene on a path which is optimum for collection of visual data for 3d-reconstruction. The robot also has applications in Gait analysis of children, the robot can move along with the child, recording video of the motion. This video can be analyzed either on board or offline. The robot has wireless LAN link to send images and receive goals.
